Triangles are classified on the basis of sides and angles. On the basis of sides there are three types of triangle scalene, isosceles and equilateral. Similarly, on the basis of angles triangle are classified in to three types they are acute angled, right angled and obtuse angled triangle.

On the basis of sides, triangle is classified in to three types they are;

**Equilateral Triangle:** A triangle having all sides equal is called an equilateral triangle. For example; a triangle having all sides 4 cm.

**Isosceles Triangle:** A triangle having any two sides equal is called an isosceles triangle. For example, a triangle having sides 4 cm, 4 cm, and 5 cm.

**Scalene Triangle:** A triangle having all the sides different in length is called scalene triangle. For example; a triangle having sides 3 cm, 4 cm and 5 cm.

On the basis of angles, triangle is classified in to three types. They are given below.

**Acute angles Triangle:** A triangle having all the angles acute or less than 90 degree is called acute angle triangle.For example; A triangle having the angles 60 degree, 50 degree and 70 degree.

**Right Angled Triangle:** A Triangle having anyone angle is 90 degrees is called right-angle triangle. For example; a triangle having angles 90 degree, 40 degree and 50 degree.

**Obtuse angled Triangle:** A triangle in which any one angle is more than 90 degree is called obtuse angled triangle. For example; a triangle having the angles 100 degree, 30 degree and 50 degree.
